Twitter, easy to use, but difficult to master

Let me introduce myself. I'm Neal Chambers, an English teacher in Osaka, Japan and all around tech head. English teachers are a fairly spread out bunch of people. There are people teaching English all through out the world. This makes it difficult to meet up and share ideas.

I first started using Twitter a little over a year ago. At first, I had no idea what I was doing or what to tweet. I had my feed protected and I wasn't quite sure what all the fuss was about. I thought to myself "What is this Twitter thing?"

It actually took me quite awhile to get up to speed and start getting the most out of it. I've learned a lot of tips and tricks along the way. And, I made more than a few embarrassing mistakes. But I learned from them and now I get a lot of useful information from Twitter. I've also met new people that I never would have met through other means.

Twitter connects you to the world

Twitter is a powerful tool that can be used to bridge gaps in geography and time to bring you powerful networking opportunities. In this down global economy, it's more important than ever to get out there and pound the pavement, networking with people and finding new opportunities.

• Module 8: Terminology (20:35) - What is the difference between an @reply and a DM? What is the advantage of each? A full explanation of the key terms you need to know.
• Module 9: Etiquette (28:32) - A complete list of all the dos and don'ts of using Twitter. Keep yourself from making a faux pas with these helpful tips.
• Module 10: Problems and Pitfalls (23:10) - In the final module, I go over some problems with Twitter and how you can stay safe from viruses and worms.
